Mommy and Me creating Acrylic and Metallic Floral Abstracts
This is a guided intuitive exercise. While we are not reproducing these exact samples in class, we will work on similar works of art. Students are not expected to copy this work, but to use the instructor's demonstration as a loose reference to freely create expressive floral abstracts, using acrylic paint and other mixed metallic paints/markers/gold and copper leaf on high quality watercolor paper. Each pair will walk away with six unique (6×9 inch) works of art that they will create using a grid taping technique.
The instructor will patiently guide students through the process of balance between texture, color, line expression, paint layering, and other creative techniques. There will be time during the class for each pair of students to have one on one guidance as the instructor walks around the room interacting with each person and piece of work.
