I have always LOVED crafting and sewing and do-it-yourself projects. I've made several quilts, all sorts of crafts, my own clothes, re-conditioned furniture...you name it I've probably tried it.
And I've also really always loved the rustic-chic look as far as fashion goes. I wanted a pair of the cool earrings that I saw women like Joanna Gaines wearing on Fixer-Upper, but as I looked around online I didn't really see anything that I liked, or the stuff that I did like was made from animals. I knew that there were other materials available so I wanted to see if I could make some cool statement earrings out of faux leather and cork. I LOVED what I came up with, and started to make more. Soon my friends and neighbors noticed and started asking if I could make earrings or other jewelry for them too. At first they weren't too concerned with what I was making from, but once I explained that they were going to look good WITHOUT feeling bad (no cows or piggies killed for their fashion sense)- they loved it even more!
Since earrings I've expanded a little bit, and have gotten into making some faux leather bracelets and taking my sewing skills to the next level with handmade scarves too. These are the MOST comfortable scarves I've ever worn- and I wear a scarf ALMOST every day in the fall and winter. They are made from double-gauze cotton (also called Muslin) and it is the same material that baby swaddling blankets are made from. You will absolutely love how elegant they make you look while being SO comfortable at the same time!
