Birch tree and cardinal bowl with handle

Nicole Kirkpatrick is an artist who loves to work in her studio creating one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces. She is also an Art teacher who inspires others to create one-of-a-kind artworks. She has been working continuously as a potter for over 25 years and is constantly trying new methods in ceramics. Nicole’s favorite color is turquoise. It always reminds her of the beautiful waters found near tropical beaches. This color is very cool and soothing, which she finds very relaxing. When she is making her cardinal and birch tree mugs, the process involves several steps including throwing the mug, pulling a handle, firing, glazing, and firing again. Nicole would love to learn more about Printmaking. There are so many processes in Printmaking, and knowing that she could use some of those techniques in her ceramic process keeps her moving forward in this new medium. At one point, Nicole had a Great Dane breeding business and owned 6 Great Danes at one time. As for advice to younger artists, Nicole stands by never giving up on your dream. Never sacrifice your art to please others, however, always try to learn more by working and perfecting your craft. Always think your Art is a journey and doors will open with a positive attitude. Because she is an Art Educator, like many artists, she uses Dick Blick quite frequently. They have wonderful customer service and their glazes work wonders on student's artwork. For my ceramic business, I use multiple vendors but I do appreciate Bisque Imports. Bisque Imports delivers quickly and you can count on great communication of shipment and delivery.
