Plays in Mud Pottery was founded by Kelsey in 2009. She touched clay for the first time 1988 and was hooked. From that moment on she knew she wanted to be a potter and ceramic artist. Kelsey has worked hard creating a unique line of pottery that is as pleasing to use as it is beautiful to look at. When working in the studio, her motto is "if its there its meant to be". With that in mind it all comes down to the details. Decorating and sanding the bottom of each piece (without the bottom the mug or vase would not function and needs just a little bit of love) the craftsmanship is evident in each and every vessel she creates. Kelsey believes that in this busy tech filled life using pottery grounds us in/to the moment allowing us time to be connected to the moment we are currently experiencing. Small stamps are used to decorate the surface of each piece. The stamps are designed and made by Kelsey and are unique to her, no other potter will have these designs. Each piece is carefully crafted with small details added to enhance the experience of using her pottery. She decorates the bottom of the piece and even adds decoration to the handles of mugs. All of these small details come together to create a beautiful experience of using, holding and enjoying each and every item she makes.
