Four life-long friends who tended bar and lived together in Virginia created wine themed gifts as part of their company Blue Ridge Mountain Gifts. We have always aspired to go into business for ourselves. After many long nights of brainstorming, we had the idea of turning the empty wine bottles thrown away after busy bartending shifts into unique, eye-catching products. Already having a bartending background and connections, they felt confident being able to source the raw materials needed for production. The BottlesUncorked™ product line has been a success through providing unique handcrafted wind chimes, lanterns, and bird feeders to a variety of customers and businesses. Along the journey, we have learned the joys and challenges of small business ownership, learned to stay flexible in our operations, and learned that inspiration and opportunities can come from anywhere. One of these opportunities was investing in the ability for us to engrave wooden and glass products while continuing to expand our product lineup to give our customers a one-of-a-kind experience with every purchase. In the process of building our business, our friendships have grown deeper as we have experienced success, failures, and obstacles that we celebrated, overcame, and learned from together.
