Diane Yao grew up in China and this is her ninth year living in Madison, Wisconsin. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in art and a master’s degree in accounting. The subjects of my art often include the things I experience in life. She photographs nature, buildings, or still life and produce works interpreted from those photos. Her most commonly used art medium is watercolor. She like the transparent and luminous characteristics of watercolor. In 2021, she painted a new community library near Metcalfe’s Market at Hilldale Shopping Center. Yao's artwork has also been published by the Yahara Literary Journal and the Ebling Library Corpus Callosum. Though she works in the financial field, I spend my spare time painting. Painting provides balance in her life. While producing art, she feels calm and peaceful. I hope to bring these feelings to others through my artwork.
