Local McFarland favorite Emily Brewerâs company Creek and Elm has been one of our top sellers since we opened our doors. Customers enjoy the lightweight feel, modern designs, and variety of styles. Emilyâs favorite color is teal â she has decorated her house in teal. Depending on the complexity of the piece, it can take Emily anywhere 1-2 hours from start to finish- as she makes sure to pay close attention to every little detail. Emily has recently started to try her hand at clay- it has been really fun and the options are endless. She would also like to learn more about is woodworking which would allow her to create custom designs for Creek+Elm. One thing that may surprise you is that during her early 20âs she did a Dental Mission Trip to Guatemala that was life-changing. Emilyâs advice to younger artists - Donât let others tell you that you canât do something. Everyone is amazing and has a special talent, and if you put your mind to it, you can make anything happen! Emily sources everything locally in the U.S. -the smaller the shop, the better! As far as cork, she sources right from Portugal where the Cork Oak Tree grows- they have THE BEST cork! Cork is the main material she works with. It has so many amazing properties, being an eco-friendly and sustainable resource that is both extremely lightweight and water resistant. Some additional fun facts Emily has shipped to all 50 states plus Canada. Emily feels super blessed that her husband, Zach, helps out behind the scenes. Without him, Creek+Elm would not be where it is today.
